Tips to Get the Most out of RecipeComparison.com

Search on RecipeComparison.com just like you do with your favorite search engine. Search by recipe name or ingredient using one word, multiple words, or a specific string "surrounded with quotation marks".

Do you want to find a recipe that uses multiple ingredients you have on hand? You can put one ingredient on each line and RecipeComparison.com will find recipes that include all of those ingredients.

You can also find recipes that do not contain a particular word by using a hypen (aka "minus sign"). This can be useful if you simply don't like an ingredient or have a food allergy.

Here are a few examples...

Searching for this...	Will return recipes with...
pesto	pesto in the name of the recipe or as an ingredient
basil pesto	basil and pesto, just basil, or just pesto
basil pesto	basil and pesto. Recipes with only basil or only pesto will not be returned.
"basil pesto"	the exact string "basil pesto". Recipes will not be returned with the words basil and pesto that are separated by other words.
pizza mushrooms -olives	pizza with mushrooms, but not olives
french onion soup -mix	Recipes for french onion soup rather than recipes that might include 'french onion soup mix'

If you want to find recipes from only one site, change the selection from "Everything" to the site of your choice.

Whenever you check or uncheck a recipe, you must press the "Compare Selected" button to remember the recipes you have checked.

Your personal search history & recipe selection history can help you remember all the recipes you compared earlier, even if you're using a different computer.

Everytime a registered user searches for an ingredient or recipe, that search is displayed in your personal search history to the right of the search button. Simply click once on any previous search to execute that same search again.

Similar to the personal search history, every recipe you check to compare will also be saved in your personal recipe selection history. The recipe selection history is displayed just to the right of the search history. Click once on any of those recipes to add them to the recipe comparison table.

You can share the recipes you have just compared with your friends by using ShareThis. Simply click the "ShareThis" button in the top-left corner of the comparison table. ShareThis allows you to send a simple email to your friends, or you can share your recipe comparison through a variety of other social networks.
